October, 2023 - Monthly News Recap

For the Month of October, DigiCon would like to recognize a member of our ARNORTH support team whose initiative and creativity were recognized by both Digi and ARNORTH leadership.

Employee Highlight – Amir Kamalov, ARNORTH

Mr. Amir Kamalov, a helpdesk technician supporting our ARNORTH contract, was recently commended by his DigiCon team lead and ARNORTH leadership for his initiative in developing a script which automated portions of our team’s equipment checks. ARNORTH service desk branch lead, Mr. Brian K. Lytton, explained Mr. Kamalov’s efforts in his message of praise he relayed to DigiCon leadership:

“One of the many characters I look for in a technician is initiative and Amir has that! He saw a problem and took it upon himself to find a solution!

Each day, a report has to be submitted to COL Lamy with network status on multiple buildings and each morning Amir is sitting there pinging printers to see if they’re on the network.

He decided that pinging all those printers individually just wasn’t efficient, so he developed a script that automatically pings every printer in the command. What took him close to 15 minutes to complete, is now taking less than a minute.”

Thanks to Mr. Kamalov’s work developing his scanning script, our entire ARNORTH help desk team is able to dramatically improve both the speed and accuracy of their daily equipment checks. Upon receiving praise of Mr. Kamalov from ARNORTH leadership, DigiCon’s San Antonio Project & Business Development Manager Miranda Maple visited the ARNORTH site to congratulate Mr. Kamalov in person, congratulating him and presenting him with an Amazon gift card (pictured below). Mr. Kamalov’s actions embodies the value DigiCon places on employee initiatve and innovation, and shows the value in our approach towards “leading with our people!”

During the month of April 2023, DigiCon made a major investment by acquiring our company’s first fleet vehicle as detailed below:

Fleet Vehicle & Audiovisual Hardware Acquisition in support of Marine Corps Base Quantico

Last month, our team announced a prime contract award to support Marine Corps Base (MCB) Quantico in providing Audiovisual Maintenance and Service Support alongside our partner TWD & Associates. This contract represented a significant milestone for Digital Consultants LLC, and our operations team and executive leadership were eager to invest in the necessary resources to ensure its successful execution. Upon receiving our award notification, our contract team immediately began researching the latest AV technologies and solutions that would meet the base’s needs. They identified a variety of state-of-the-art equipment, including high-resolution cameras, advanced sound systems, and specialized software, that would allow them to deliver a high-quality AV experience for the base’s personnel.

In addition to the sourcing of new AV equipment, our leadership recognized the need for a company vehicle to transport the equipment to and from the base’s facilities. After careful consideration, they decided to move forward with the purchase of Digital Consultant’s first company vehicle in support of our MCB Quantico team. A spacious and reliable cargo van, the vehicle can easily accommodate our MCB Quantico support team, their tools and equipment, and can even tow a light equipment trailer if required.

The acqusition of this new fleet vehicle has paid off for Digital Consultants in many ways. The acquisition of a fleet vehicle allows our contract teams to easily move between our HQ facility and nearby contract sites, as well as increase our company’s overall capacity to serve clients which may require simultaneous support across multiple different locations.

The investment in new AV equipment and our first fleet vehicle was a significant step for Digital Consultants. It will allow our company to take on larger and more complex projects in addition to expanding our service offerings across a broader geographic area without any significant increase to customer costs. In addition, our team has undergone many personnel and systems changes over the past few months making it difficult to feel like a “team”. November, 2022 - Monthly News Recap

Digital Consultants is happy to announce the introduction of our new monthly news updates! These will be posted to our website newsreel alongside our usual contract award updates, and will recap some of the major developments that occurred over the course of the previous month. For our first monthly update, we take a look at DigiCon news for November, 2022:

Employee Highlights

DigiCon employees have been hard at work throughout the past month providing our customers with industry-leading support and expertise. Recently, two of our employees have demonstrated exceptional initiative in contributing to DigiCon and our clients, and have been presented with our CEO Award for Staff Excellence:

Latoya Holmes – NCIS ITSC Service Desk

Latoya Holmes has been absolutely critical to the NCIS ITSC Service Desk team over the last few months as she has helped the team manage recent staff turnover. The entire Service Desk T2 team turned over within the previous two month period. As a result of the promotion of two of the T1 techs, a gap was created in T1 coverage. In this same period of time, the Service Desk had two T1 techs take time off to do their National/Air Guard annual training creating an even bigger T1 coverage gap.

Ms. Holmes was able to train the two newly trained T1’s that were onboarded and covered the workload of the entire T1 team while doing so. While she did have some assistance from the T2 techs, she still entered more than double the normal number of tickets each week. She maintained this level of performance over four weeks until our reservists returned from training. Ms. Holmes managed to resolve the majority of the tickets she entered, which is a phenomenal achievement.

Ms. Holmes’ supervisor, Matthew Brown, NCIS ITSC Service Desk Lead, stated: “I see great things for her moving forward as she is already assertively requesting the T2 techs include her in projects and troubleshooting assignments they work. This can-do attitude will continue to serve her as she continues to grow and move forward in her IT career.”

Troy Lee – PFPA LMR

Mr. Troy Lee over the past year has become the cornerstone of Land Mobile Radio Asset Management for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA). Troy has pride for his area of expertise, ensuring that the customer knows they can count on him to help them through their asset management problems. He holds the standards of the asset management program to the highest level resulting in the first ever 100% accountability for government property in the agency. During his employment PFPA Land Mobile Radio program has had zero lost assets; this is a major accomplishment for the program and the agency.
